As an avid lover of nature, animals and a dedicated Dead Head. Greg Naccarato enjoyed exploring our local canyons and great outdoors. Sadly our loving brother and youngest son has passed. On 20 July 2023 Greg has received the freedom to enjoy the perfect life he so rightfully deserves.
After 38 years of being confined to a wheelchair following a tragic rock climbing accident Greg carried on, conducting himself with patience, a wonderful smile and with no complaints.
Greg’s endless hard work through his board membership as a director at the Utah Independent Living Center ensured ADA handicap accessibility was designed and supported throughout the local community. He ensured others with disabilities enjoyed a healthy quality of life by advocating and organizing outdoor adventures and events like camping, river runs, walk and roll marathons and more.
His ability to maintain his independence and drive to excel despite his disabilities were continually demonstrated by earning his Bachelor’s Degree at the University of Utah. Regardless of weather conditions he still made his way around campus in his wheelchair with the help of a few supportive students, we thank you for your kindness!
Greg used his degree working as a software developer and web designer at WFR Multiple Listing Service to provide the Utah Real Estate community the first Web accessible MLS platform.
Greg was a great inspiration to all of those who had the pleasure of knowing him, his quick wit and timely sense of humor made him an absolute joy to be around him.
Family was very important to him, he loved and greatly appreciated his Highland Care family of friends and caregivers. Their support and care meant everything to Greg and we are truly grateful.
Greg has chosen a Green Burial that leaves no trace and does no harm to Mother Earth. At his request the services will be an intimate private event with his immediate family. A celebration of his life will be announced at a later date.
At Gregs request please consider donations in lieu of flowers to Second Chance for Homeless Pets https://www.utahpetadoptions.org
Assist the less fortunate, be caring, kind and be a good steward to Mother Earth and all of her animals.
Toss back a cold one, spin a couple Grateful Dead tunes and think of Greg, he was truly an amazing man, brother and son and he will be deeply missed.
