Hannah Brady, age 89, of Salt Lake City, UT, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 12, 2009, in Salt Lake City, UT. Hannah was born January 17, 1920, in Manassa, CO, to Samuel Jackson Jr. and Harriett Ella Mortensen. On Sept 13, 1939, she married Leland Reece Brady, in Romeo, CO. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on May 7, 1942. Hannah was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in various callings. She particularly loved working with the Primary children and serving as a temple worker and missionary with her husband, Reece. Hannah was a devoted wife, loving mother, and grandmother. She was a great homemaker and cook. She enjoyed canning and making candy with her children. She loved family gatherings, especially the family coming together on Sunday to enjoy her pinto beans and homemade bread. Her children and grandchildren loved to play games with her. She enjoyed gardening and had a beautiful flower garden. She was an intelligent woman and loved to read.

Survivors include daughters, Judith Hammond, Nancy Curtis, Ella Westley, Sharon Smith (Terryl); sons, Robert (Brenda), Anthony (Karla), and Daniel (Debbie); 24 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and 8 great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents, 4 brothers, 4 sisters, and one grandchild.

The family would like to thank the staff at Wasatch Valley Rehabilitation and Golden Living Center for their compassionate care of Hannah.

Services will be Friday, June 19, 2009, noon at The Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 South 2300 East, where friends may call Friday prior to the services 10:45-11:45 a.m. prior to the services.
