Throughout her life Hanne found joy in giving of her time and talents to serve her family, friends, and neighbors in many different ways.

Hanne died on September 13, 2026, at her home in Holladay, Utah, surrounded by loved ones. She was born on January 21, 1936, in Berlin, Germany to Friedrich Otto Emil Wernick and Edith Hildegard Frieda Haschke. She was sealed to E. Forrest Booth on January 8, 1960, in the Salt Lake Temple.

Hanne completed her schooling through high school, and furthered her education earning the equivalent of an associate's degree in Seamstressing (sewing) in Germany. She faithfully served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints in her native country of Germany. Following her mission, she pursued her desire and immigrated to The United States of America. Although her English was limited, she accepted a call to teach in the Relief Society.

After moving to Utah, Hanne reconnected with Forrest, whom she had met on her mission. They married on January 8, 1960, and together they welcomed 6 children. Hanne cherished her family! They spent many wonderful times camping, traveling the country in their truck & trailer, and enjoying many adventures as their kids were growing up. Hanne also treasured the time they spent in Hawaii, visiting the Big Island as often as she could.

Hanne willingly accepted the many callings extended to her and served faithfully in each throughout her life. Hanne loved the temple and found great joy in her calling as a temple worker. She was a worker at the Salt Lake Temple for many years, until the temple was closed for renovation. She then continued temple work, serving in the Jordan River Temple. Despite declining health and failing eyesight, she continued to serve each week in the temple for many years until she was honorably released. Throughout her life Hanne found joy in giving of her time and talents to serve her family, friends, and neighbors in many different ways.

She is survived by her husband Forrest, her children, Esther Nigbur (Frank), Evonne Claflin, David (Kimberly), Tannya Burkhardt (Tobias), Scott (Jane), Natasha Bell (Andrew), 18 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren, her siblings Liesle Ebert, Dorthea Schmelter (Mike), and Karl Wernick (Dana).

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral Service will be held on Monday, September 21, 2026, at the LDS chapel located at 4500 South and 2700 East in Holladay, Utah.

Interment will be at Memorial Mountain View Cemetery, Cottonwood Heights, UT.
