Hannelore Hilda Krug Groth

Hannelore was born on June 30, 1935, in Lahr, Germany to Erwin Krug and Theresia (Kuenstle) Krug. She graduated from this earth on September 27, 2026, in Murray, Utah.

She met the love of her life, Siegfried Bruno Groth at a German soccer club dance in Salt Lake City. They married on March 23, 1962, in the Salt Lake Temple.

Mom dedicated many years of faithful service to her LDS ward, where she joyfully fulfilled many callings. She also cherished her time serving as a receptionist at the Jordan River Temple, loving every minute of her time there. Devoted to her family, she was a constant presence in our lives serving as a room mother for school classes and acting as our absolute best cheerleader at sporting events, choir performances, piano recitals, dance performances, cheer competitions, ballet, and theater.

She found great joy in the simple pleasures of life, including crocheting, knitting, quilting, camping, and cooking delicious meals for those she loved. She truly loved being outdoors and took special pride tending to her beautiful roses. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren held a sacred place in her heart, and her deep love for them was evident every time they were together. Family time was her favorite time, especially outdoors. When Dad passed away, mom adopted her little dog Schoggi, he helped her through many difficult times for 21 years. Her Swiss heritage was very important in her life, and she enjoyed being a member of the Swiss Edelweiss Choir and supported them as often as possible. She loved going for drives, picnics, and shopping, with Costco samples as her favorite treat. Her favorite restaurant was Kowloon’s where we celebrated many special occasions. Some of her favorite vacations were returning to her beloved Switzerland, the great cruise to Spain, Disneyland, and Disney World.

She is Survived by her three daughters Susie, Anita (David) and Lisa. She is also survived by her nine grandchildren; Mikey (Rachel), Katie, Alexa, Matthaus (Morgan), Natasha (Jeryson), Sofie, Nikita (Devon), Tatianna, Kimball, and two and a half great grandchildren; Millie, Jace, and baby Remington.

Preceded in death by – her loving husband Siegfried, parents Erwin and Theresia, two sisters Emma and Anneliese, two brothers Hans and Paul and son-in-law Aziz.

Funeral Service will be held on – Friday October 2, 2026, at the Hunter Stake Center 3737 South 5600 West, West Valley City, Utah 84120, at 12:00 noon. A viewing will be held Thursday evening from 6:00-8:00 pm and Friday from 9:30-11:30 am at the same location.

Interment will be at Mountain View Memorial Estates 3115 Bengal Blvd, Cottonwood Heights.

We are grateful to the special people who cared for Oma in her final weeks.
