Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, and friend, Heidi Spanglo, who passed away unexpectedly at home on July 29, 2026, at the age of 60.

Heidi found great joy in the simple blessings of life. She loved cooking for those she cherished and found peace and fulfillment tending to her garden. More than anything, however, her greatest joy was her family. She was a devoted wife to her beloved husband, Steven Spanglo, and a loving mother to Tara Nesbit, Andrew Spanglo, Daniel Spanglo, Chris, and Ashley Spanglo. Her heart overflowed with love for her two beautiful granddaughters, who brought immeasurable happiness to her life.

Heidi was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her testimony of Jesus Christ was the foundation of her life. She loved studying the scriptures, seeking the Lord through sincere prayer, and striving each day to follow the Savior's example. Her quiet faith, unwavering trust in God, and Christlike love were evident in all she did.

To know Heidi was to experience genuine kindness and compassion. She possessed a remarkable gift for recognizing others' needs and responding with love. Whether offering words of encouragement, opening her home, or simply being present, Heidi served selflessly and without hesitation. She lived as the Savior taught—lifting the weary, comforting the brokenhearted, and extending love to everyone she met. Her generous spirit and servant's heart touched countless lives and will never be forgotten.

Though Heidi's passing leaves an immeasurable ache in the hearts of those who knew and loved her, her influence will continue through the family she cherished and the many lives she blessed. She leaves behind a legacy of faith, love, service, and unwavering devotion to Jesus Christ that will continue to inspire generations to come.

Heidi is lovingly survived by her devoted husband, Steven Spanglo; her children, Tara Nesbit and her husband, Cody; Chris Rhinehart, and his wife, Jenny; Andrew Spanglo; and Daniel Spanglo; her two beautiful granddaughters, Mae and Lilly; and many extended family members and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Ashley, whom she loved deeply and whose passing in 2024 she carried in her heart every day.

Her family, countless friends, and her beloved cats will forever cherish her memory and feel blessed to have known her. Though Heidi's presence will be deeply missed, her love, faith, and example will continue to live on in the hearts of all those she leaves behind. While we mourn her absence, we find comfort and hope in the restored gospel of Jesus Christ and in the sacred promise that families can be together forever.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, August 10, 2026 at 11 AM at Memorial Redwood Mortuary and Cemetery: 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, UT 84123.
