Helen Emma Halvorson Dall

On a beautiful fall morning, our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Helen Emma Halvorson Dall, passed away peacefully holding her husband’s hand and was surrounded by her family on October 22, 2022.
Helen was born August 8, 1930, in Crosby, ND, to Halvor S. Halvorson and Amy O. Westlie, and was the oldest of four children. She was raised in Crosby, ND, and later moved to Kalispell, MT. with her mother. On May 28, 1958, she married Henry David Dall IV, Jr, in the Salt Lake City Temple. Together Helen and Henry raised ten children in Kearns and Taylorsville, UT. In later years, Helen and Henry lived in Harrisburg Estates in Hurricane, UT. before moving to Fairfield Village in Layton, UT.
Helen joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on March 7, 1952, where she held many positions in the church including many Ward and Stake callings. Helen and Henry served six missions as a couple, including Philadelphia, PA, Church Service Missionaries at the Humanitarian Center, Stake Missionaries and as Temple Service Missionaries. Helen spent many hours doing genealogy and completed temple work for hundreds of her ancestors. What a wonderful reunion she is having.
Helen worked as a Teaching Assistant at West Kearns Elementary in the Granite School District where she retired and continued her friendships with the teachers she worked with throughout her career. Helen and Henry started a family business, H&H Janitorial, where the family worked late hours cleaning business and office buildings in the Salt Lake City area.
Mom was happiest when she could be around her kids and grandchildren. Mom loved having family gatherings and pool parties at their home. One of Mom’s favorite times was having friends over for ice cream where they would talk and laugh for hours. Mom loved to be on the move, and travel as much as life would allow. Whenever Mom and Dad were active or just watching a movie at home, you would always see them holding hands or showing some form of affection. Mom loved telling stories of her childhood and loved being outside and feeling the sun on her face. Christmas was Mom’s favorite holiday where the house was decorated throughout and would make candy to give as gifts to friends and neighbors, which was always done with love. Anyone Mom met became a lifelong friend. We have missed being able to have incredible conversations with Mom and Mom’s humor. Most of all we miss Mom’s zest for life in those beautiful blue eyes of love.
Helen is survived by her husband of 64 years, Henry, four daughters and six sons; Douglas (Alice), Barbara (Phil) Hibler, Henry David (Diane), Craig (Cynthia), Tammy (Mark) Pinnau, Brent (Claudia), Lisa (Judy), Lori (Sandy), and Brian (Larry). She is survived by her sister, Alice Potter, and brother Mike Henfer; 14 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Harvey Halvorson.
The family will receive friends on November 1, 2022, from 10:00 am to 11:30 am at the Memorial Estates Redwood Mortuary located at 6500 S Redwood Road, West Jordan, UT.
