Helen Phibbs Hyte passed away on March 14, 2009 at the age of 90 at her home in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was born on April 4, 1918 in Minidoka, Idaho to John and Bertie Branscome Phibbs. Helen married her sweetheart Peter E. Hyte on November 7, 1936 in Farmington, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. Her ability to show unconditional love for all those who entered her home was her natural gift. She loved to recall fun stories from the past and her laughter will forever echo in our hearts. She never let anyone leave her house hungry or without a hug. She loved genealogy and spent countless hours sharing her heritage. She was a true disciple of Christ.
She will be missed by her children, Ronald (Marlene), Robert (Jane), Richard (Laraine), Steven, Lisa; 28 grandchildren; 63 great-grandchildren; and her brother, Elmer (Isabel). Her husband, Peter; and her son, Lawrence (Beverly); and 10 brothers and 4 sisters preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 18, 2009 11:00AM at the Garden Heights Ward, 2220 East Fisher Lane (2935 South). Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday evening from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at the Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 South 2300 East, and also at the church on Wednesday morning from 9:30AM to 10:30AM prior to services.
