Helen Shuk Kuen Wong, 75, of Murray, UT, passed away on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at 8:35 a.m. after battling illnesses for the past month.
Born in 1940 in Hong Kong, China to mother, Yin Ying Ho and father, Chuen Lee, Helen was an extremely selfless and loving person to her family and others that knew her. Immigrating to the United States in 1976, she bravely started a new life with her family in tow and settled in Salt Lake City, Utah to put down her roots. Helen was a timeless and classic beauty with a keen sense of style. She worked as a seamstress/tailor for most of her life and had a following of customers that adored her gentleness and sharp wit. If you wanted the truth, they all knew they could count on Helen to give it to them straight!
In conjunction with her husband Charles their tailor shop, United Tailors, continues to be a success to this day. In her spare time, she enjoyed spending some weekends in Wendover, Nevada and had a bit of luck now and then at some of the casinos there. She was also known for her love of cats. She took in every stray that ever crossed her path and gave them a warm, loving home to live out their days.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Charles Wong, her three daughters, Amy Terry (Utah), Becky Brinkerhoff (Colorado) and Cindy Miller (Oregon). Also survived by her grandchildren, Alexa Pace, Zane Pace, Julia Miller, Jared Brinkerhoff and Evan Brinkerhoff.
