Herbert Nelson Russell

Herbert Nelson Russell, 90 yrs. old, passed away, on 2 Feb 2015 at Central Utah Veterans Home in Payson, after a long battle with Alzheimer's.  Herb was born 9 Feb 1924 to Luther and Alberta Russell, in Modesto, California.  He was a Veteran of WWII and Korean War. While in the military he met Leah Whitehead and after a three month courtship they were married. They were married 64 yrs. at her death in 2006.  He retired from the U of U and from the U of U Hospital where he was a volunteer for 56yrs.   He was a professional Clown and Santa Claus.

He was predeceased by his wife, Leah Whitehead Russell; son, Ronald Nelson Russell (Marilyn); and a grandson, Mark Russell.  He is survived by sons, David L. Russell (Annette), Douglas R Russell (Connie); daughter, Carrie E. Russell Chlarson; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great great-grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be Thursday, February 5, 2015 at 11:00am at the Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 South 2300 East, where friends and family can visit 9:30-10:30am prior to the service.
