Howard Ray Wallace passed on March 20, 2008 at the age of 80 after a trying illness through which he suffered with patience and courage. He was born September 22, 1927 in Spring Canyon, Utah. He attended high school in Price, Utah where he was known as the "Harry James of Carbon High". He played trumpet at school and later as a member of the Jim Dart Swing Band. He served in the Navy during World War II where he trained in communications and as tail gunner in a Navy bomber. He was also a member of the Navy Band. He attended BYU briefly where he studied bookkeeping. He worked as a salesman and later ran his own business. Howard and Rose Marie Samuelsen were married for nearly 50 years and have 4 children. He was a quiet family man who had tender feelings for his family and took great pleasure in their accomplishments. He is a member of the LDS Church. He is survived by his wife, Rose Marie, sister Diane Edwards (Dan), daughter Wendy Smith (Stewart), sons Brian Wallace (Lisa), Jeff Wallace (Tammy), David Wallace (Marty), 16 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Howard was preceded in death by his parents Alvin and Agnes (Fillmore) Wallace and his brother Leonard Wallace. A viewing will be held at Holbrook Mortuary (3251 S 2300 E) on Sun, March 23 from 6-8 PM and funeral services on Mon the 24th at 11:00 AM at the Canyon Rim 1st/2nd Ward (3130 E 3000 S) with an additional viewing at the church from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM prior to services. He will be interred at the Utah Veteran's Memorial Park on Camp Williams Road in Bluffdale, Utah. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.holbrookmortuary.com
