Imogene "Gene" Steele Wonnacott

Imogene "Gene" Steele Wonnacott passed away on May 26, 2008, on her 90th birthday, in TN, where her daughter, Shauna, cared for her. Gene was born to Edward & Ida Worthington in OK. She had three daughters, Shauna Pikula, Revonna Steele (who preceded her in death), and Ginger Jacobsen. She is also survived by her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Gene was married to Ben Steele for 37 years, and after his passing, to Duke Wonnacott, who also preceded her in death, for 6 years. Gene worked for the Institute for the Blind and spent many years in the food and catering businesses. At one time she owned two restaurants. She is remembered for her love of doll collecting, dancing, flowers and her family. Some of her most treasured memories come from spending time at the cabin that she and Ben built together. She was a strong and passionate woman. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 3, 2008 at 9:00am at the Highland View Ward, 2980 South 2790 East. Interment: Lake Hills Memorial Park, Sandy, UT.
