Inge Poulson

Inge Lis Magnusson Poulson 1938-2025

Our loving mother and Mormor, Inge Lis Magnusson Poulson, joined her eternal companion Frank in Heaven on August 26, 2025. Inge was born in 1938 in Copenhagen, Denmark to Dagmar Nielsen and Niels Harry Magnusson. Inge attended household school in Denmark, and graduated as a female chef. She was also a shoemaker in Denmark. She spent many of her summers with her grandmother and family on a farm in southern Denmark. She joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at age 16. She loved the gospel. She was a member of a church performing dance group that travelled around Denmark. She also loved singing in the ward choir. Her testimony led her to leave her birthplace of Denmark and come to the United States. She emigrated to the USA alone in 1960 and found a home in Utah with friends. She never wavered from her beliefs. This was the biggest reason for her coming to Utah. She also wanted to see the Salt Lake Temple which she had on a postcard that she carried with her.

Inge met Frank Poulson, a returned missionary from Denmark, at a Danish missionary homecoming, and they were married in the Manti Temple in 1961. They celebrated 63 years of marriage last year. They had 3 children and raised them in Cottonwood Heights. They moved to West Jordan in 1999. Inge worked at a variety of places, including the Granite Mountain Records Vault and ZCMI . She enjoyed working on family history of her many ancestors in Denmark, Sweden and Germany. Inge watched many children over the years in her neighborhood and even cared for foster children for two years. She was always loving and caring and worried about keeping others happy. She was truly an amazing, loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother also lovingly known as Mormor. She loved dancing, singing, knitting, crocheting, sewing and loved cooking yummy danish meals for her family. She was a great cook. She enjoyed making æbleskiver, frikadeller, finskbrød, vaniljekranser, eating nougat and passed the love of danish food to her children and grandchildren.

Inge loved to celebrate by having a Danish Christmas, including flæskesteg, brunede kartofler and risalamande. She would always make sure to call you on your birthday and sing a danish birthday song to you. She always made sure to ask several times if you got something from the candy drawer or a drink when you came to her house. After a lifetime of health challenges and much pain, Mormor is now doing cartwheels in heaven awaiting with joyful anticipation her perfect resurrected body.

Preceded in death by her sweetheart Frank by only 30 days, her parents Dagmar and Niels Harry Magnusson, and younger brothers John and Per of Denmark. She leaves behind Ronda and Bruce Jones, Eric and Dewi Poulson, Marie and Bryan Arnett. 14 grandchildren,. and 10 great grandchildren. The family wants to extend heartfelt gratitude to all those who supported Inge over these past years as her health declined. We appreciate the members of the River 5th Ward and West Jordan River Stake and their selfless service over the years as well as a thanks to all the many medical professionals, physical therapists, in home and palliative care nurses, and for the loving assistance of Inspiration Home Health & Hospice during her last two weeks.

Vi elsker dig MORMOR!!!
