Ira Edwin Holbrook passed away at his home July 16, 2008. Ira was born August 4, 1914 in Bountiful, Utah to Ira Cook and Allie Mae Pace Holbrook. He married his wife of 73 years, Myrtle Jackson, on October 14, 1935 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Ira lived a most honorable life. He served in Coast Guard during WWII. He owned and operated one of Salt Lake City's premiere, fine men's clothing stores on Main Street for over 30 years, "The Rafter Shop". He was devoted to his wife, children and their beautiful avenue's home. Ira leaves a legacy of impeccable integrity, hard work and service to church and community. The family thanks everyone for their kindness and generosity through the years.

Ira is survived by his wife; sons Ronald, and Shirl (DeeAnn), 7 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents; son J. Lowell; 6 sisters; and 1 brother.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 22, 2008 at 12:00 noon at the Ensign 1st Ward, 135 A Street, SLC. Friends may visit with the family from 10 to 11:30 am at the church prior to services.
