Dr. Jack Dozier, former principal of Park City High School, passed from this life on Friday, May 11, 2007. He was 74 Born September 17, 1932, in Bell County, Kentucky, to Edwin and Jennie Lyne Twiam Dozier. Preceded in death by his parents and his brothers: Edwin, Jr., James Earl and Herbert Eugene. Survived by his loving sister, Sue Haygood and his devoted companion of eleven years, Mary Aa, both of Salt Lake City. Jack served in the U.S. Air Force in the Korean War. He received his B.A. degree from Western State College, 1958, a M.A. degree form the University of Idaho, 1962, and a Ph.D. from the University of Utah, 1977. There he served as an Assistant Coach, Freshman Coach and advance scout. The first two decades of his career were spent as a professional educator, secondary school level, primarily in Woodland, California. There he served as Head football coach for 10 years. He taught U.S. History, Government, Political Science, and English. Jack was most proud of the 1970 perfect football season team with no losses and their Northern California State Championship. He also successfully coached the Northern California All Star senior team. Jack was responsible for the new Woodland Community Football and Track facility. Jack was principal of the Park City High school for 15 years. In 1986, the Park City High Dozier football field facility was named in recognition of the excellence he maintained for his students. Jack was highly respected and admired by students and peers alike for his loyalty and dedication to the welfare and achievement of all his students. He was named "Citizen of the Year" for Park City upon his retirement in 1991 and for his many contributions to the Park City community.
