Jacoba Kollman Kleyweg
1923 ~ 2008
Jacoba Kollman Kleyweg, beloved sister, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away peacefully on Aug. 25th surrounded by her family. She was born in Dordrecht, Holland to Auke and Neeltje DeVries on June 23rd, 1923. She married Maartin Anton in 1945 and in 1952, she, along with her family converted to the LDS faith and immigrated to Utah. Hers was a very tight-knit family, warm and welcoming to all. Through thick and thin, the 5 sisters raised their children in Utah, always keeping their Dutch heritage close to heart. Years after the passing of Martin, she later married Herman Kleyweg. The two had one child together and she was widowed in 1973. She lived and cared for her sister Annie until Annie's death in 1997. Living a modest life, Jacoba was always giving to her family however she could, making sacrifices along the way to help them have all the best in life. Watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow up was her greatest joy; her reward for all she'd done and how she'd lived. She enjoyed a long, peaceful life, her warm smile a comfort to those who knew her. She is survived by her sister Margie Bergman (Dick); daughters Nellie Nourse, Corry Holbrook (Clay) and Melissa Kleyweg; grandchildren Chris Holbrook, Justin Holbrook, Lisa Green (Billy), Emily Nourse; and great-grandchildren Kiana and Madyson Holbrook. A viewing for family and friends will be held at Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 South 2300 East from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 27th. There will also be a graveside service on Thursday, Aug. 28th at 11:00 a.m. at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East 10600 South. Online condolences may be sent to the family at: www.holbrookmortuary.com. In lieu of flowers, a kind donation to the Utah Kidney Foundation in her name would be favored.
