James William Garrett

James William Garrett was born on October 14th, 1931 and passed away peacefully in his home on September 6th, 2025. He was happily married to the love of his life Bonnie Rae Garrett. They were married for 64 years and their marriage was solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. 

James was a beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather. He is leaving a legacy of 19 grandchildren and 35 great grand children. 

James loved watching his grandchildren play sports. He also enjoyed traveling, camping, and fishing and was an avid wood carver. He is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had many callings; ward clerk, scout master and was in the bishopric. 

He is survived by his 5 children; James Jr. Garrett, Michael Rand Garrett (Tracy), Christine Garrett Childs (Kim), Catherine Garrett Goodrich (Mark), Stephen Rae Garrett (Marybeth). 

He will be remembered for his sense of humor and kind heart. He will be dearly missed. 

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 13th, 2025 at 10:30 AM at Memorial Redwood Mortuary located at 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah, 84123. A viewing will be held prior to the service from 9:30 AM - 10:30 AM at the same location.
