Janet K. Burch, age 84, passed away peacefully on January 24, 2026, in Sandy, Utah.
Janet was born on May 12, 1941, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to John and Elizabeth Kirch. She later married the love of her life, Alan Burch, with whom she shared many years of devotion and companionship.
Janet had a vibrant spirit and enjoyed staying active. She was a proud member of the Sweet Adelines, an all-female barbershop singing group. She had a beautiful baritone voice and assisted in choreographing many of the Sweet Adelines' numbers. The performing arts were an important part of her life, and she loved her job as an usher for Pioneer Theater, Capitol Theater, and Eccles Theater. She found joy in tennis, golfing, and bowling. She delighted in challenging family members to spirited games of Scrabble, taking daily walks with Alan and Sasha, their loyal Akita, and going to lunch with family members. She made many wonderful memories travelling to some of the most beautiful places in the world. She cherished time spent with family and friends and will be remembered for her warmth, kindness, and love of music.
She is survived by her husband, Alan Burch; her children, Carolee, Curtis (Allyson), and Brian (Cindy); nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Nancy Lewis and Connie Thompson.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents, John and Elizabeth Kirch, and her brother, Johnny Kirch.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
