Janet Rasmussen was loved by all those who met her. Janet shared her love with everyone she met and could always be found giving service to others. Janet loved with her whole heart, and if she met you, she loved you.
Throughout her life, she battled a number of health problems, but never let that stop her. Recently, she was battling myelodysplastic syndrome and finished chemo in June, and was doing so much better after treatments. That, together with pneumonia, made her heart too weak to recover when she went into sudden cardiac arrest at home in the early morning of Thanksgiving, November 27, 2025.
Janet was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, on July 28, 1952, to Margie and Jack Feldman. She met her soul mate, John Rasmussen, in high school, and the two were married for 51 years.
Janet loved to travel and learn about people and cultures wherever she went. She traveled to 12 different countries and 49 states.
Janet loved to sew: Making clothes, costumes, and quilts galore. She was constantly making quilts for family weddings and graduations. Janet was continually working on projects to serve her neighbors, community, and family. She had a deep love of family history and enjoyed learning the stories of ancestors and writing their life stories so that they would live on.
Janet is survived by her loving husband John, her six wonderful children, Diane Perry, John Bryan (Danielle) Rasmussen, Jerry (Wendy) Rasmussen, Jennifer Allgood, Jill (Douglas) Handley, Janna (Josh) Gardner, her 18 grandchildren, her sister Judy Bishop, brother Jack Feldman, and dog Pippi Pipperton.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, December 4th, from 6-8 pm at the LDS church, 2666 W 7000 S, West Jordan, Utah, and the funeral at the same location on Friday, December 5th, from 12:30-1:30 pm with a viewing beforehand from 11:30 am to 12:00 pm. She will be interred next to her parents at the Memorial Estates Cemetery.
