Janet Robinson

Janet Robinson passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family, on August 23, 2026 in Sandy, Utah.

Janet was born on February 20, 1953, in Rigby, Idaho, to Kenneth Garn Cook and Verla Clark Cook. She was the youngest of six children, 4 girls and 2 boys, and grew up in Ririe, Idaho.

After graduating from Ririe High School, Janet briefly attended Idaho State University. She later attended Brigham Young University, where she met Bruce Robinson. The two were married on March 3, 1974, and later divorced.

Janet’s greatest joy in life came from being a mother to her three children, Brett, Garrett, and Caitlin. She devoted herself wholeheartedly to her children and loved being involved in their lives. When they were young, she looked for every opportunity to volunteer on school field trips, help in the classroom, and be involved in their lives. Her children always knew they were deeply loved and the center of her existence.

Janet was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her faith was an important part of her life, and she found comfort and strength in her relationship with Heavenly Father and her Savior, Jesus Christ.

Janet loved to cook and found joy in making meals for her family and trying new recipes. She also loved crafting, particularly creating decorations out of craft foam which she made for nearly every holiday. She took great pride in her work and loved sharing her decorations with family members, friends, and neighbors.

Caring for others came naturally to Janet. She loved animals, including the family pets and worked briefly as a pet groomer. After the kids were grown, she spent several years working as a Certified Nursing Assistant in an assisted living center. She was loved by the residents for the genuine kindness, patience, and the compassion she showed them.

Later years were spent relaxing at home where she enjoyed reading, doing jigsaw puzzles, watching her favorite TV shows, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Janet is survived by her children, Brett (Marcy) Robinson, Garrett Robinson, Caitlin (Adam) Lowe, and her grandchildren, Lily Robinson, Violet Robinson, Wyatt Lowe, Hunter Lowe, and Calvin Lowe.

She is preceded in death by her parents, sister Janeal Jensen, and sister-in-law, Sylvia Cook.

A funeral service will be held Friday, August 28, 2026, at 11:00 A.M. at the Crescent Ridge Stake Center 1265 E. 11000 S., Sandy, UT 84094. Friends and family may visit the Stake Center on Thursday August 27th from 6-8 P.M. and Friday from 9:30-11 A.M. Internment will be at the Memorial Lake Hills Mortuary and Cemetery, located at 10055 State Street, Sandy Utah, 84094.
