Jannette Grimshaw (Parkin), passed away peacefully on October 3rd, 2026, surrounded by her children and grandchildren.
Born on August 20th, 1950, to Valeria and Frank Parkin, Jan spent her early years in Nephi, Utah, with her siblings Fred, Ellen, Carl, and Angela. After Valeria passed away, Frank remarried Veda, which blended a family with Douglas and Judy.
She attended Juab High School, where she graduated in 1968. Jan built a respected career as a Health Insurance Underwriter. She was cherished by colleagues and friends alike for her remarkable work ethic, genuine kindness, and welcoming spirit.
In 1976, Jan married Alan Cleverly. Though they later parted ways, they shared a life together raising five children in West Bountiful: Aimee Woods, Lindsy Cleverly (Ryan Kuhnhenn), Joshua Cleverly, Landon Cleverly (Mary), and Russell Cleverly (Janaye Stetson). Jan was a proud Nana to Amanda and Sean Woods, as well as Brighton, Mason, Evan, Madison, and Kace Cleverly. She later reconnected with Denzil Grimshaw, and after sharing many years of marriage, their relationship eventually came to a close.
To know her was truly to love her. She had an unconditional love and a deep selflessness, always putting her family and others first. Whether she was making cute crafts for birthdays and holidays, sewing and creating Halloween costumes, calling just to check in and talk, or dropping everything in an instant to help someone in need, she always showed up. Her presence was a constant comfort, and she could be found affectionately scratching your back or arm, never missing a performance, game, or any important moment. A passionate mother, Nana, sister, and friend to all, she treasured her family above all else and cherished the precious time spent together. Though confronted with a sudden and aggressive rare cancer, she fought with everything she had, driven by her desire to stay longer with her family.
Jan was deeply spiritual, and she was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her life was defined by a pure, Christ-like devotion—most notably in her boundless love for her Savior, Jesus Christ, and a strong belief in the Resurrection and the Second Coming. She loved her church ward and served faithfully in the Relief Society, but nothing brought her more joy in the church, than serving the children in Primary. Teaching for many years, she put her whole soul into her classes.
Though her gentle presence and comforting touch will be profoundly missed, her radiant spirit, boundless love, and the countless memories she created will live on in our hearts forever until we meet again.
