Jean C. Monson, age 93, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2024, in Draper, Utah. Born on February 20, 1931, in Covington, Virginia, she was the youngest of six children of Walter Carper and Lottie Mae.

Growing up, Jean's father owned several stores where all her siblings worked. Although she was promised a furnished apartment and a car if she joined the family business, Jean's strong will and determination led her to pursue her own ambitions. She attended nursing school, fulfilling her dream of becoming a nurse.

After completing her education, Jean moved to Salt Lake City, Utah, where she dedicated 35 years to serving her community as a nurse, ultimately retiring from the University of Utah Hospital. Her compassion, dedication, and skill left a lasting legacy in the lives of the countless patients she cared for over the years.

On August 4th, 1954, Jean married Kenneth H. Monson, and together they had three children.

Jean had a passion for sewing and spent many years creating beautiful quilts, each a testament to her creativity and artistry. She was also an extraordinary cook, known for hosting grand feasts for family and friends. Her vibrant personality and colorful wardrobe were a reflection of her lively spirit, and she brought joy and warmth wherever she went.

Jean will be remembered for her strong will, her love for her family, and the countless ways she enriched the lives of those around her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and memories that will provide laughter and joy.

She is survived by her sons, Lantz (Pam) Monson, Neil (Julie) Monson, and Drew (Martina) Monson, plus many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and friends. She was preceded in death by Walter and Lottie Carper (Parents), Helen Mae Carper (Sister), Walter Carper Jr (Brother), Mary Carper (Sister), Hazel Larue (Sister) and Harry Carper (brother).
