Our wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Jeanne Aird Pettingill, 83, passed away peacefully in Draper, Utah surrounded by her family. She was born on October 26, 1938, in Salt Lake City, Utah. Jeanne married Ted H. Pettingill on June 4th 1960 in the Salt Lake City temple. After raising their two girls, Tami and Teri, Jeanne and Ted enjoyed many years spending their winters on the beach in Puerto Peñasco, Mexico. In their retirement years, they purchased a motorhome and spent their summers exploring as many back roads and scenic byways as they could. More than anything, Jeanne loved spending time with her family. she was always present for the games and dance recitals of her grandkids. She and Ted loved showing up unexpectedly to surprise and support them. Jeanne loved reading, baking, and craft projects. She could make anything look good. She loved making peach jam for her family and playing solitaire on her iPad.
Jeanne is survived by her siblings John Aird (Lynda), Bob Aird (Kris), Linda Wilson (Allen).
her two daughters Tami Alston (Brad), and Teri Chatterton, seven grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Ted, her father John Harold Aird, and her mother Rilla Fay Newman.
A family viewing will be held this Thursday, October 20th 2022 at 1:00 at Memorial Mountain View Mortuary and Cemetery (3115 E Bengal Boulevard, Cottonwood Heights, Utah, 84121). A graveside service will follow at the Salt Lake City Cemetery at approximately 2:30 PM.
