Jennifer Irene Callister

June 27, 1957 — January 10, 2009

Jennifer Irene Blach Callister passed away on January 10, 2009 from injuries sustained in an accident. Jennifer was born June 27, 1957 in San Francisco, California to John Joseph and Jacqueline Kenyon Blach, and was raised in Los Altos, California. She graduated from Los Altos High School and also attended Foothill College. While a student at Foothill she met David J. Callister whom she married in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on April 3, 1979. They have two sons, Peter Joseph and Adam Johns. Jennifer's three passions in life were nurturing her sons, raising pets, and teaching children. Two of her highest priorities were seeking well-rounded educations for her boys, and having them develop interests in their environment. She loved animals of all kinds, and family pets included cats, dogs, birds, and turtles; many stray animals found at least temporary shelter in her home. As an active member of the LDS church her favorite callings were teaching Primary children. She shared her testimony with the youth both in word and by example. Jennifer is survived by her husband, David Johns, her sons, three sisters, Margaret (Ron) Thomas, Christine (Dan) Collins, and Katherine (Charles) Williams. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, John Joseph, Jr. Funeral services will be held on Friday January 16, 2009, 11:00 am at the East Mill Creek 2nd Ward, 3750 South Hillside Lane (2500 East). Friends may visit with the family on Thursday evening from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 South 2300 East, and at the church on Friday morning from 9:45 am to 10:45 am prior to services. Interment: Elysian Burial Gardens. Online condolences may be sent to the family at: www.holbrookmortuary.com
