Jerry Lee Fresquez, lovingly known as “Bird,” passed away peacefully on July 6, 2025, at the age of 67. Born on August 28, 1957, in Murray, Utah, he was the son of the late Samuel and Ignacita Fresquez.Jerry spent nearly four decades living in West Jordan, Utah, where he built a quiet and hardworking life. He retired from Kennecott Copper Mine after more than 25 years as a dedicated Haulage Driver. His strong work ethic and loyal nature left a lasting impression on those who worked alongside him.
Though Jerry did not have children of his own, he was a beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews, whom he cared for deeply and who brought great joy to his life.He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Ignacita Fresquez, and his siblings Henry Fresquez, Tony Fresquez, and Kathy Medina (Tony).
He is survived by his siblings Sam Fresquez (Beatrice), Johnny Fresquez, and Arlene Begay (Harry), his sister-in-law Rose Fresquez, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will miss him dearly.He looked forward to his sister-in-law Bea’s care packages filled with tamales, biscochitos, and piñon.Jerry will be remembered for his quiet strength, his love for family, and the deep loyalty he carried for those he loved.
