Jerry Woodmansee Nelson

Jerry Woodmansee Nelson, aged 89, passed away on September 25, 2026 in West Jordan, Utah. He was born on June 9, 1937 in Sparks, Nevada, to Janet and Grant Nelson. He married Linda Diane Otis on October 21, 1964.

Jerry graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in Journalism. He served as Editor-in-Chief and Public Relations Officer for the Utah Public Employees Association periodical “The Utah Public Employee” from 1971 to 1979. He was a United States Army Reservist, attaining the rank of Sargeant First Class.

Jerry was a dog lover with many Shih Tzus over the years.

Jerry is survived by his sons, Jeffery and Bradley Nelson; grandson, Ashton Nelson, granddaughters Ariana and Emily Nelson, and daughter-in-law Sarah Nelson. He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Otis Nelson.

A private family viewing will be held on October 10, 2026 at Memorial Lake Hills Mortuary & Cemetery, followed by a Graveside Service at 12:00 PM.
