Jerry George Pearson was born June 2, 1939 in SLC, Utah to George Benjamin Pearson and Sarah Josephina Kellett. He passed away June 21, 2025 at his home in Draper, Utah.
He graduated from Jordan High School in 1957. He went on to work along side his Pappy building and sanding bowling alleys. They had a family farm raising turkeys and Charolais cattle. Dad and his Pappy would cut, bale and pick up hay from sun up to sun down. He started working for Salt Lake County Fire in the early 1970’s and retired after 27 years. He was set up on a blind date and married his sweetheart, Phyllis Ruby Carlson on December 26, 1970 in Las Vegas, Nevada. They had 3 children together. Greg (Melissa), Randy (Stephanie) and Becky (Jess Pickering). He had 3 grandkids Tate, Nash and Ruby and 3 step grandkids Brandon, Madux and Mia. He is survived by his sister, Irene Carlson and his brother in law Michael Carlson, 3 nieces and 1 nephew. He is preceded in death by his parents, in-laws Gordon and Ruby Carlson, his sister Palma, brother John, sister in law Carol Vernon, brother in law Bob Vernon, brother in law William Carlson and several nieces and nephews He loved all of his animals but had a special bond with his beloved lap dog Trudy. He spoiled her rotten and her love for him was unconditional.
After retirement from the fire department, the fields he used to farm in Draper were now filled with homes so he went to work driving the bus for the Draper Senior Center where he met many good friends. He enjoyed putting together puzzles, collecting coins, going to coin shows, drinking coffee, reloading bullets, going to the Wyoming Downs, breeding fish, watching NASCAR and he was an avid train collector. He enjoyed traveling with friends and with The Good Sam’s Club in his RV. He was blessed with 86 years on this earth and many of them were full of good times and good people.
The family would like to thank The Draper Police Department, Draper City Fire Department and the 911 dispatcher for their efforts in assisting our dad. Thank you for being there in our time of need.
