Jesse Harold Bjorkman

August 2, 1925 — December 22, 2014

Our loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away after a long illness on December 22, 2014.  He was born in Central Idaho to Henry Albert Bjorkman and Sophia Hansen Bjorkman, and was the youngest of 10 children.

Graduating from Grace Idaho High School he enlisted in the Army Air Corps and saw combat in the Pacific Theater during World War II.  After the war he married Violet Maureen Neese on August 7, 1948 and graduated from the University of Utah.

He spent his career working at Dixon Paper Company, rising from working in the stock room to senior leadership with the company.  After retirement he enjoyed skiing, golfing and spending time with his best friend, Don Buttomer.

Jess was preceded in death by his wife, his parents and eight of his siblings.  He is survived by his two sons, David (Kaye) and Paul Bjorkman, two grandsons, James and Michael Bjorkman, and three great granddaughters.  He is also survived by his brother, Norman.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, December 24, 2014 at the Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 South 2300 East in Salt Lake City.  Friends can call one hour before the service.  Interment will be at the Wasatch Lawn Cemetery.  Online tributes and comments can be posted for the family at:  www.HolbrookMortuary.com
