Mary Joanne Truscott Peterson

Mary Joanne Truscott Peterson died on August 29, 2026 in So Jordan, Utah. She was Born September 1, 1931 in Fairview, Utah to Phyllis Mae Reynolds Truscott and Fern Moore Truscott.

She was married to Melvin Duane Peterson on August 16, 1949.

She is preceded in death by her husband Duane, her parents, sisters and many other dear family members.

She is survived by two sons. Gary and wife, Fleurette Peterson and Randy and wife, Lea Peterson. She has one granddaughter, Lindsay and husband, Joey Littell. Two grandsons, Kevin Ford and Keith Ford and wife, Jeanette. Ten great grandchildren. Kennedy Littell, Emma Ford, Kjirsten and husband, Riley Maria, Arianna Ford, Padraig Ford, Seamus and wife, Jennifer Ford, Kaeden and Tiffany Ford. Two Great-great grandchildren. Rune and Merrick Ford. She adored her family.

Joanne was a wonderful cook. She made breads and sugar and pinwheel cookies that she shared with family and friends. The tastes that you can’t forget.

Joanne was a lady of busy hands. She loved to crochet and knit. She has made many sweaters, blankets, doll clothes for Barbie dolls, baby sweater and blanket sets and so much more. She has knitted hundreds of hats, scarves, that have been donated to the children’s hospitals and the homeless. She loved to read and read her scriptures daily.

Funeral services for Joanne will be held Friday, September 4th at 10:00 AM at Memorial Mountain View Mortuary, 3115 E Bengal Blvd, Cottonwood Heights, Utah 84121.
