Jody Lynn Dell McGowen Hart passed away peacefully on February 18, 2018 surrounded by her family. She was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana to Kenneth Harold Dell and Arlene Amelia Gensel Dell on November 17, 1954.

Jody spent much of her life bringing light and laughter to her family and friends.  She had a gift for making people feel welcomed, comfortable, and important.  She left her personal touch everywhere she went: in her home, in her art, and in her work.  She was always giving of herself, always saying yes to the needs of other people.  Her love for others was genuine.  She will be remembered most for her smile and laughter, and for her positive outlook on life.

Jody is survived by her mother, Arlene McBride; husband, Michael Hart; daughter, Brooke (Mark) Fidler and their children, Michael and Jacob; son, Jared (Nicki) McGowen and their children, Haylee, Jack, and Sarah; step-daughter, Tiffany (Matt) Schmidt and their children, Ella and Audrey; step-daughter, Heather DuPriest and her children, Gavin and Austin; step-son, Michael (Nicole) Hart and their son, Theodore; and step-son, Kyle Hart; sisters, Tammy (Randy) Miller and Michelle (Rick) Robertson; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by father, Ken Dell; brother, Ricky Dell; and daughter-in-law, Samantha McGowen.

A memorial service will be held Friday, February 23, 2018 at Noon at the Kenwood 2 ^nd Ward, 1765 East 3080 South, where friends and family can visit one hour prior to the service. A Celebration of Life will be held in Indiana at a later date.
