John passed away in the comfort of his home in West Jordan the morning of Thursday, August 13th.
John was born in Salt Lake, UT to Karen Bringhurst Jex and John Owen Bringhurst. He was the youngest of three kids. His older sisters Michele and Tracy gave him a run for his money growing up but loved him dearly and he loved them. As a child he loved riding dirt bikes. He attended Cottonwood High School and later graduated from Bingham High School, class of 1986. He spent a lot of his Jr. High and High school years helping his dad in the horse racing business. From pulling horse trailers across multiple state lines to training the horses to creating everlasting memories with friends and family at the race track.
John went on to marry the love of his life, Cindy Perry in June 1991. They had two children together, Kylan and Mandy, who were his pride and joy. As a family they enjoyed camping and riding four wheelers together. He loved to ride around in the mountains and at the sand dunes in his Razor side-by-side. Traveling was also one of his favorite things to do, from multiple cruises to tropical vacations to road trips with various destinations.
John worked most of his life in the construction industry and enjoyed being a foreman on multiple different projects. He was very knowledgeable in that field and knew how to fix almost anything. After getting out of the construction industry, he went into blind sales and estimating. A skill and profession he shared with his daughter.
John is survived by his wife Cindy, children Kylan (Sarah) and Mandy, his sisters Michele (Carl), and Tracy, his father Owen (Diana), grandkids Conner and James. He is preceded in death by his mom Karen Jex and stepdad Larry Jex.
