John Chatwin Eves

John passed away on June 29, 2023, at the age of 100 and 6 months after having a stroke. He was born in Salt Lake City, UT on December 17, 1922, to Mary Lizzie Chatwin Eves and John Franklin Eves. He married Theo Childs on June 17, 1946, and was later sealed in the Jordan River Temple.
John had many hobbies. He loved wood carving and woodworking, fly fishing, photography, gardening, hunting, scouting, and was an avid reader, sometimes reading up to 10 books a week. John served in the Navy during World War II. He also served as a Temple worker in the Salt Lake Temple for a number of  years.
He is survived by his children: Linda (Nyle) Steiner, Randy (DeAnn) Eves, Jodie (Ron) Smart & Tammy Morgan; 9 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Theo Childs Eves, and his son-in-law, Scott Morgan, as well as his parents and siblings.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, July 11, 2023, at 10:00am at Memorial Holladay Cemetery, 4900 S. Memory Lane, Holladay, UT 84117
