John Lawrence Greenwood

John Lawrence (Larry) Greenwood, Jr. was born October 13, 1934 to Lacy Elizabeth Aplanap Greenwood and John Lawrence Greenwood in Salt Lake City, Utah.  He passed away on April 13, 2020.

Larry proudly served in the Army and went on to graduate from the University of Utah with a degree in Chemical Engineering.

He worked for Hercules Aerospace for 20+ years and following his retirement went on to a second 20-year career with the United States Postal Service.

On August 14, 1976, he married Pat Hedburg King and they were happily married for 43 years.

Larry was one of the most intelligent, caring, generous, witty, self-less individuals to ever live.  When he married Pat, Debbie came along with the deal and he loved her and treated her as nothing less than his own daughter.  She loved him dearly and considered him a second father.  His three grandchildren (Erica, Daniel and Anna) were so very dear to him and he was so proud of them.

Larry lovingly and compassionately cared for Pat through years of health difficulties up until her death last year; sometimes to the detriment of his own health.  Larry truly was an angel walking among us.

Larry, husband, father and grandfather, you will be missed tremendously by your family and all of the individuals whose life you touched in one way or another.

Rest well sweet Larry; For you have fulfilled your mission here on earth.

There will be a private family graveside service with interment at Elysian Burial Gardens.
