John Joseph Lauber Junior died on June 25, 2025, in Salt Lake City, Utah, at the age of 78. He was born on February 13, 1947, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to John Joseph Lauber Senior and Beth Marie Poll. He married Laura Burford Lauber on January 25, 1992.
John had a heart big enough to love everyone he came to know. He genuinely cared for others and made sure they had a place to belong, especially in times of need. He could relate to others no matter their age, background or circumstance and was the first to offer his assistance no matter the need. Everyone he knew, including neighbors, and his children’s friends became his family, and he loved them unconditionally. When he was not fixing a sink, remodeling a bathroom, building a model car, crocheting a blanket or doll, or making a seven-course meal, John could be found harmonizing in a quartet, yelling cut on set of a Stake musical production, or directing a choir. He enjoyed square dancing, playing the piano and organ or anything music related.
As a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, John served faithfully with a cheerful heart, always going above and beyond for those he served. Throughout his years of service he touched so many, from a missionary in France, to a scout master assisting many in earning their Eagle Scout award. He served in Bishoprics, Elders Quorum, Sunday School, High Council, and primary callings, but no matter where he served, he made a difference.
He is Survived by his Wife Laura Lauber, children, Pamela Bollinger, Philip Bollinger, Chris (Dorae) Lauber, Rochelle (Bruce) Capes, Tracy Lauber, Aimee (Michael) Sizemore, Tami (Douglas) Hansen, Nathan (Lacey) Lauber, twenty-seven grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.
He is Preceded in death by his parents, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and close friends.
