John Cutler Nelson is forever a beloved son, brother, uncle, cousin, and dear friend. He passed away on July 25, 2026, at the age of 39. His passing has left an immeasurable sadness in the hearts of the many people who loved him and were fortunate enough to share in his life.

John attended Holliday Elementary and Waterford School in Sandy, Utah, prior to attending college at the University of California Merced. He went on to pursuea career in Investment Banking with Vanguard in Arizona. Additionally, John worked for several years as a Personal Trainer at Equinox in California and at the Scottsdale Private Airport in Arizona.

John lived a life defined by adventure and travel. He explored every place he went with intention and with a desire to truly get to know the people and appreciate the unique qualities of each location. Some of the many places he traveled were The Netherlands, British Virgin Islands, New Mexico, Colorado, California, Montana, Florida, Utah, Arizona, Hawaii (Big Island), Kuai, Oahu, Bahamas and Mexico. He created a life filled with beautiful sunsets, unforgettable hikes, crystal-blue waters, snow-covered mountains, and breathtaking views of a world that most people only dream of experiencing.

John had a genuine passion for living. He loved skiing, paddle boarding, skateboarding, physical fitness, soccer, karate, hiking, poetry, reading, and exploring new places. He sought out experiences that challenged him, inspired him, and pushed him beyond the ordinary. He had an appreciation for the beauty and wonder of the world, and he made a point of experiencing as much of it as he could.

John was deeply loyal and valued the people in his life. He formed true and lasting friendships built on genuine interest, compassion, and connection. He was drawn to interesting and introspective people, meaningful conversations, and relationships that went far beyond the surface. For those who earned his friendship, John was someone who could be counted on.

John lived life on his own terms and without apology. He followed his passions, pursued experiences rather than possessions, and valued the people he loved. He chose a life filled with adventure, beauty, discovery, and authenticity. He understood that life was meant to be experienced—to get outside, explore, take chances, challenge yourself, appreciate the moment, and create memories along the way.

Those who were fortunate enough to know John will remember more than the places he traveled, the mountains he climbed, the water he explored, or the adventures he experienced. They will remember John—his individuality, his loyalty, his curiosity, his passion for life, his conversations, his humor, and the genuine connections he created with the people around him.

His life may have been far too short, but it was a life lived with intention, passion, and an appreciation for the extraordinary world around him. The memories he created and the friendships he leaves behind will remain a lasting part of the lives he touched.

The world has lost a truly rare, genuine, and beautiful soul. John will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten. Much Love!!
