Our beloved son, brother, uncle, husband, and father, John Tu'itavaka Vehikite, passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home in Sunset, Utah, on June 25, 2025, after a courageous battle with a rare form of cancer called Amyloidosis, which ultimately lead to heart failure.
Diagnosed just a year ago, John never let his illness define him. While undergoing aggressive chemotherapy and countless doctor's appointments, he continued to work full-time and fight with unwavering determination. He faced each day with strength, positivity, and a smile that could light up any room.
John was the life of every party - walking into any room with a vibrant presence, infectious energy, and joyful spirit that lifted everyone around him. He loved to travel and create memories with his family. For John, time was only well spent with the ones he loved - especially his wife and children. He truly lived life to the fullest.
A die-hard San Francisco 49ers fan, John bled red and gold. If you knew Johnny, you knew his passion ran deep - from his home decor and wardrobe to his accessories and tattoos. He was proud to be part of the 49er Faithful, shouting, "Who are we? FORTY NINERS!" from the rooftops. And who could forget his signature boom box and those unforgettable dance moves - slightly off beat, yet uniquely Johnny.
John was most proud of being a husband and father. He married the loved of his life, Kayko Fawn Chadwick, on June 21, 2024. Together, they raised their son Artreus Keanu Vehikite, stepchildren Lili and Armando, and fur babies Manchas and Kush. His family was his everything, and being a husband and dad was his greatest joy and achievement.
John is survived by:
His loving wife Kayko
His children Artreus, Lili, and Armando
His fur babies Manchas and Kush
His parents Sione and Mafi Vehikite
His siblings: Vaha (siupeli), Edward (Rosella), Barr (Jacque), Lesley, Derrick (Setita), Kapiolani (Clifton), and Pule
Numerous nieces, nephews, and beloved fur nephews
We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to the compassionate staff at McKay-Dee Hospital, especially Dr. Tollefson and Dr. Motabagle, and to John’s second family, the Utah Niner Empire, for their endless support, love, and prayers.
We love you, Johnny. Until we meet again – Faithful then, Faithful now, Faithful forever.
