John Fred Wright

February 18, 1921 — March 27, 2013

Our father and grandfather passed away peacefully at home on March 27, 2013. Fred was born February 18, 1921 in Garland, Utah and grew up in Malad, Idaho where as a young man he learned to work. The son of Herschel and Beatrice Wright, Fred graduated from Malad High School before serving in the United States Army. He married Emma Jean Clark on Oct. 12, 1946 and their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. Fred graduated from BYU and used his education to work as an accountant for the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture. Fred made friends easily. He loved to talk, from these conversations friendships were made for life.

Fred was preceded in death by his wife, Emma Jean; four brothers and three sisters. He is survived by his children, Jan Taylor (Gary-deceased), Clark Wright (Fei), Jill Butler (Brad), Patricia Larson (Ron), Paula McAllister; 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Words cannot adequately express our appreciation for the compassionate care Fred received by his wonderful caregivers. Selfless service of family, friends, neighbors and others added much joy to his life.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at 10:00am at the Salt Lake Valley View Stake Center, 2245 E. 3900 S. Friends may visit with the family Monday evening, 6:00-8:00pm at the Holbrook Mortuary, 3251 S. 2300 E., and at the church Tuesday morning 9:00-9:45am prior to the service.

Messages to the family can be posted at: www.HolbrookMortuary.com
