Joseph Arthur Ingoglia, affectionately known as Joe, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2024, at the age of 84, surrounded by his loving family at his home in Holladay, Utah. Born in San Francisco to Marie Rose Rubino and Isidoro Joseph Ingoglia, an Italian immigrant, Joe's life was a testament to love, dedication, and service.
Growing up in San Carlos, Joe graduated from Carlmont High in 1958. At 24, he married the love of his life, Arlene Norma Clifford, whom he fondly referred to as his "softie." Joe pursued a career as an electrician, becoming a journeyman for the IBEW local 617 union before transitioning to Real Estate sales.
Joe and Arlene were blessed with six children, five daughters, and a son. His passion for wrestling shone brightly throughout his life, from excelling in high school and at the San Francisco Olympic Club, to coaching at the Redwood City Youth Police Club, where he imparted not only wrestling skills but valuable life lessons to countless youth. His other great passion was fishing where he taught his kids, his grandkids, and basically everyone else's kids how to fish. He had so many fishing buddies and I'm sure many of them when fishing will say come on Uncle Joe, Grandpa Joe, or big Joe send one down.
In 1979, Joe and Arlene moved to Paradise, CA, where they raised their family for nearly four decades until the devastating Camp Fire forced them to relocate in 2018. United in marriage for eternity in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Oakland CA temple on their 11th wedding anniversary, Joe and Arlene shared a deep commitment to their faith and to each other.
Joe's devotion to family extended beyond his immediate circle, as he and Arlene served in various callings, including teaching the children in Primary. He was a kind soul who cared about others demonstrating it through his Christlike acts. Preceded in death by his parents and sister Victoria “Cookie”, Joe is survived by his beloved wife Arlene of sixty years, children Lena Chambers (Kirk), Angela Grange (Chad), Elizabeth Powers (Laine), Rebecca Williams (Seth), Joe “Joey” Ingoglia, and Deborah Johansson (Steve), as well as his sisters Anne Murray (Doug), and Teresa “Terry”. And on the top of his list his grandkids who will remember his endearing greeting, "Guess what? I love you with all my heart!"
A celebration of Joe's life will be held on Saturday the 15 of June at 1:00 at 4601 South Chapel Drive, S 2565 E, Holladay, UT 84117, where friends and family will come together to honor his memory and legacy of love.
