Joseph Paul Manzanares

Our beloved husband, brother, father, grandfather and great grandfather of West Jordan, Utah, age 88, passed away peacefully at home in the early hours of February 11, 2024. 

Joseph was born to Henry and Laura (Dominguez) Manzanares on January 11, 1936 in San Pablo, Colorado. Paul married wife JoAnn Caldwell on April 19, 1962 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Grandpa loved fishing, genealogy, yard work-especially in his garden, and his cowboy movies! 

Paul survived by his wife JoAnn, of 62 years. Daughters: Diana Luce and Teresa (Bob) Garrett. Granddaughters: Heather (Jason) Sumsion and Tara (Ryan) Nixon. Grandson: Alan Guzman. Great-grandkids: Rafe, Logan, Berkley, and Colton. Siblings: George (Bea) Manzanares, Willie Manzanares, and Henrietta (Danny) Swift. His bonus daughter Sheila Davis and her girls, Jesseka and Shonika. He was preceded in death by his son Joe, his parents, and siblings Silvia and Andrew. 

The family would like to express our extreme gratitude to Atlas and Auburn Crest Hospice. His nurses: Sara and Jess. Aides: Allison and Pam. Also to his niece JoLynn (David) Moffitt, for loving and caring for him in his last moments. 

A viewing will be held in his honor at Redwood Memorial (6500 south Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah) on Friday, February 16 at 9:00 am with graveside service and luncheon to follow.
