Josephine Yvonne Gabaldon

Josephine Yvonne Gabaldon our beautiful beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend passed away peacefully on June 25, 2024. Josephine was born in Bingham, Utah on May 25, 1926 to Dulcinia Medina and Antonio Gonzales. She was raised in Bingham, Utah. Her father sent her to New Mexico where she attended Allison & James Boarding School. She would later play the clarinet in the High School Marching Band. 

Josephine lived a very fulfilling life raising ten children. She was a very hard worker. One of her favorite jobs was that of a translator at Eisenhower Jr. High. She loved working with kids. Later in life, she was able to do a lot of traveling, which she enjoyed immensely. She loved cooking for her family and lots of their friends. Her greatest passion was dancing where she would reminisce about many nights dancing at the Terrace Ballroom. 

Josephine is survived by her sister Gloria Gonzales; brother Mike Gonzales; three daughters Teresa Martinez, Linda Petersen, and Victoria Gabaldon; sons Benny Gabaldon, Joe Soto, Manuel Soto, Ruben Soto, and Vince Gabaldon.  She is preceded in death by her husband Benjamin Gabaldon, daughter Becky Marquez, her sons Danny Gabaldon and Jimmy Soto Sr., and grandsons Jeremy Soto and Joshua Reese.

A viewing for family and friends will be held on Monday, July 15, 2024 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Memorial Redwood Mortuary, 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah. Funeral Mass will be on Tuesday, July 16, 2024 at 11:00 AM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 300 East 11800 South, Draper, Utah. Interment following services at the Utah Veterans Cemetery & Memorial Park (Camp Williams), 17111 South 1700 West, Bluffdale, Utah.
