Joy Sorenson Armstrong passed away August 4, 2023, in Holladay, Utah. She was born November 2, 1944, in Yuba City, Sutter County, California, to Joseph LeVoy and Emma Blaser Sorenson. She married William Alexander Armstrong on December 18, 1962.
Joy loved babies and children. She was a room mother extraordinaire. She loved homemaking, making the holidays special, gardening, music, and reading. She was a successful small business owner.
Joy is survived by her daughters, Shannon (Russ) Smith, Kathleen, Laura, Judith Ann (Brad) Christensen, and Elizabeth Rebecca. Her grandchildren, Adrienne, Melanie, Shane, Eric, Andrew, Jill, Nathan, Luke, Jimmy, Amanda, and Isla. Great-grandchildren: Henry, Scarlett, Autumn, Lucy, Ella, Holland, Dane, Ike, Micah, Thomas, Marie, Claire, Soren, Will, Finn, Mason, Magdalena, and Lily. She is survived by her sister, Emma Jean (Gordon) Haight.
She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph LeVoy and Emma Blaser Sorenson; siblings James LeVoy, Anna Eileen Smith, Donald William, Carol Lucille, and Lois Marie Stoneking.
Services for Joy will be as follows at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at4917 South Viewmont Street, Holladay, Utah 84117. The visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. The funeral service will be held in the chapel at 11:00 a.m., followed immediately by a luncheon. Interment at 1:30 pm., at Memorial Holladay Cemetery, 4900 South Memory Lane, Holladay, Utah 84117.
