Joyce (Hogarth) Stam

Joyce Hogarth Stam, age 94 our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend, passed away on the evening of November 14, 2020. she lived her life to the fullest, with dignity, perseverance, humbleness and a deep love and appreciation for her father in heaven.

Joyce was born in beautiful Accrington, County of Lancashire, England.  Joyce lost her dear mother at age 4. She was raised by her gentle natured father who was patient and kind. Joyce learned to love animals and had a fascination with books.

During her early twenties, she immigrated to America, where she met Robert Stam. They were married in Salt Lake City, Utah in 1954. Together they had two wonderful sons.

Joyce loved baking,  writing letters, and nurturing her children and pets. She was dedicated to her family and enjoyed caring for her grandchildren and neighbors.

Joyce is survived by her two sons Gary (Debbie) and Lee. Grandchildren Lindsey (Court) Hardy, Ryan, and Chase Stam. Great grandchildren; Ellie, Luke, and Andie Hardy. Two nieces Lynn (Howie) Turnbow and Sherrill (Jay) Magure.

A Graveside service will be held Friday, November 20, 2020 at 12:00 pm at Salt Lake City Cemetery, 200 North E Street.
