Judith Ann Holder

Judith (Judee) Ann Holder was born on October 12, 1943, in Cheyenne, Wyoming. As a young child she moved to Salt Lake City, Utah with her loving parents, Delmore E. and Ellen Elizabeth “Betty” John. She attended Olympus High School where she met her lifelong sweetheart, James Frederick Holder. Judee and James were married on December 19, 1962, beginning a beautiful partnership that would span more than six decades.

She held responsible administrative assistant positions in various companies, including Hercules Powder and Beckton Dickinson, where she earned the respect and admiration of her colleagues for her professionalism, dedication, and warmth. She was deeply committed to her community and gave generously of her time through her involvement with the Assistance League of Salt Lake, the National Charity League, and P.E.O.

Her life was rich with family, friendships, and adventure. She and Jim cherished time spent at their second home in McCall, Idaho, boating at Lake Powell, taking motorhome trips through Southern Utah, and tailgating at Utah Utes games. She also loved cooking, gardening, reading, and cheering enthusiastically for both the Denver Broncos and the Utes. However, because of her Cheyenne roots, she was loyal to the Wyoming Cowboys – even when they were playing the Utes.

Judee had a special love for all of her pets, especially her Boston Terriers. She will be remembered as a nurturing mother and grandmother who took great joy in celebrating her family’s accomplishments. She had an extraordinary circle of friends to whom she was fiercely loyal, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her infectious laugh, sharp wit, and perfect comedic timing brought light and laughter wherever she went. Her family and friends will forever cherish her love, humor, and the countless memories she created along the way.

She is predeceased by her parents, Delmore E. John and Ellen Elizabeth “Betty” John and survived by her devoted husband, James F. Holder; her children, Jeff Holder, Jamie Holder (Starla Holder), and Jill Gunnell (Brandon); her brother, Ed John (Joyce Wilbur); and her beloved grandchildren, Claire Holder, Kate Holder, Taylor Gunnell, and Hayden Gunnell.

Per her wishes, no funeral service will be held.
