Judy Jones Jackman, 83, passed away peacefully, surrounded by love and comfort on Saturday, February 21, 2026 having had the opportunity to spend her last days surrounded by family and loved ones.
Judy was born in Reno, Nevada, to Lenn and Velda (Williams) Jones, spending many summers in Malad, Idaho. She graduated from Rosemead High School, attended Southern Methodist University, and then Brigham Young University. During her time at BYU, she married her husband Arthur Jackman in the Los Angeles temple.
Judy lived in West Jordan, Utah for nearly 30 years where she had many friends and influenced innumerable people with her generosity, kindness, and easy-going humor.
An avid educator, Judy loved teaching and touched the lives of many people throughout her tenure at West Jordan Middle School and Copper Hills High School. Inspired by winning the Huntsman Award for Excellence in Education, she also taught and mentored teachers as well, which she continued until her retirement in 2023.
Judy is dearly missed by her sister Reta Loreman, her son Kendall (Andrea), her daughter-in-law Lesley, her son David (TaraLee), her son Scott, her daughter-in-law Jennifer, her daughter Kate (Joe), her son Bob, and her daughter Liz (Shawn), twenty-one grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday February 28, 2026 at 11 AM at 8107 S 6700 W in West Jordan with a viewing one hour prior as well as Friday night from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
Interment at Memorial Estates Redwood 6500 S Redwood Rd, West Jordan, UT 84123.
