Our beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandma and Friend Judith Marie Finch (Judy) passed away at the young age of 76. She passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 18, 2023, surrounded by love. Our Mother was a fighter and fought a long battle, after being diagnosed with a kidney disease.
Our Mother was full of life and was always waiting for the next adventure or shopping trip. She was born to Nathaniel James Harris and Helen Pearl Gauff on May 28th, 1946, in Wenatchee, Washington. Making her the youngest of five children. She was the only girl, her bothers were Harvey, Dick, Bob, and David Harris. She will be the last one to join her family in heaven. Proceeded in death by her Husband Gary A. Finch and her brothers and parents.
Judy was a beautiful woman, and, in her youth, she met her forever soulmate Gary A. Finch. They married January 8, 1960, in Tooele UT, shortly after meeting at the young age of 13. Judy went on to live a wonderful life with Gary. They had 4 girls, Lorrie J. Webster, Jill Walles (Kerry Walles) and Angel J. Maynard, and a foster Sister, Susie Norton-Laird. She was a determined soul and decided to attend medical school at West Minister college in Salt Lake City, Utah. Later graduated as a Registered Nurse in the early 70’s. She worked as a labor and delivery nurse at multiple hospitals. She always worked the night shift. She touched many lives in her 35-year career as a Nurse. She was a woman of touch and eventually went to school to become a Massage Therapist.
Our mother enjoyed shopping, crafts and sewing. She was a woman of many trades and willing to help and was never afraid to get dirty. The perfect weekend was spent at her property in Fruitland, Utah. When she retired, she was able to build her relationships with her grandchildren and helped with babysitting. Being a grandma was a huge success for her and she loved every minute she shared with her 14 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
The last several years of her life became a challenge as her health declined and she was unable to walk, and slowly lost her eyesight. A special thanks to Mistie and Eric Barela for caring for our mother during her last years.
