Julee Kirkham Bernhisel

October 15, 1952 — January 1, 2026

Julee Kirkham Bernhisel, age 73, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2026, in Riverview, Florida, surrounded by love and faith. She was born on October 15, 1952, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Emmerson Dale Kirkham and Virginia Koch Kirkham, who instilled in her a deep devotion to family, service, and learning.

On September 4, 1974, Julee married the love of her life, Marc A. Bernhisel. Their marriage was a true partnership—anchored in faith, laughter, service, and unwavering devotion to one another. Together they built a life centered on the gospel of Jesus Christ, family, and lifting others.

Julee lived with joy and enthusiasm. In her younger years she loved cheerleading, swimming, skiing, and games of all kinds—interests that reflected her energetic spirit and love of fun. She carried that same enthusiasm into her education, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Education and a Master’s Degree in Special Education. Teaching was not just her profession but her calling, and she had a remarkable gift for seeing worth and potential in every individual.

Her faith guided every part of her life. Julee served faithfully in many Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints callings, including supervising Young Women, Seminary teacher, and Relief Society President. She and Marc also served together in significant leadership roles: as mission leaders in the North Carolina Raleigh Mission; Institute leaders for young adults in San Jose, California; and Senior Missionary Coordinators in Tampa and Orlando, Florida. Serving side by side brought them great joy and deepened their shared testimony.

Above all, Julee was a devoted and loving mother to her five children: Heidi, Preston, Brooke, Lyndi, and Jenny Leigh. She was their greatest cheerleader, teacher, and safe place. Her legacy of love continues through her 21 grandchildren and two grandsons-in-law, each of whom brought her immense pride and happiness.

Julee is survived by her beloved husband, Marc A. Bernhisel; her five children and their spouses; 21 grandchildren; and two grandsons-in-law. She will be remembered for her kindness, faith, humor, strength, and her ability to make everyone feel valued and loved.

Funeral services will be held on January 24, 2026, at Memorial Lakeview Mortuary and Cemetery, 1640 Lakeview Drive, Bountiful, Utah 84010. Interment will follow in the cemetery.

Julee’s life was one of purpose, service, and love. Her influence will continue to be felt for generations, and she will be deeply missed until a joyful reunion comes.

In lieu of flowers please donate to your favorite charity in Julee's name.
