Julie Jensen Wallgren

Julie Jensen Wallgren, age 76, passed through the veil of eternity to a joyful reunion with her loved ones on January 7, 2025, in Taylorsville, Utah after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was born on February 16, 1948, in Brigham City, Utah, to M. Reese and Miriam Jensen. She married her best friend and the love of her life, Rawn Arthur Wallgren, on December 19, 1969, in the Salt Lake Temple. Together they raised six wonderful children.

Julie brought joy everywhere she went. She faced life’s challenges head-on with a positive attitude and kept her joy until the end. Her love for life was contagious. She took the time to connect with people, making everyone her friend. She never missed a chance to share a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, and she loved to make people laugh. Her family was her greatest joy and she made each member feel special and loved.

Julie was intelligent and curious, always learning new things or reading a good book. She was an excellent student, graduating from Brigham Young University with a degree in business education. Julie loved nature and enjoyed spending time camping and fishing with her family.

Julie lived a life filled with service, always the first to lend a helping hand. She held many leadership positions in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints throughout her life and filled each faithfully and with love. Her service was fueled by a strong faith in Jesus Christ and a desire to love the way He loves. Her impact on her community cannot be measured and will be greatly missed. 

Julie is survived by her husband, Rawn; sons: Stephen (Ginger), Michael (Megan), and David Wallgren; daughters: Kristin (Robert) Haynes, Marie (Andrew) Buehner, and Jennifer (Adam) George; sister, Sheri Lance; 16 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Mark Jensen.

The funeral service will be held on Monday January 13, 2025 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Ward House at 3315 West 5620 South, Taylorsville, Utah at Noon, with a viewing from 10:00am-11:30 am.
