June Miles Beauchaine passed away on April 15, 2024, in Murray, Utah. She was born on December 31, 1945, in Salina, Utah to Basil Miles and Emma Hatch Miles. She married Michael James Beauchaine on May 8, 1976.
She was a New Years Eve baby and was raised in Koosharem, Utah. Her young life was filled with adventures that can only be had in a small farming community. Near the end of World War II, her family moved to Washington state, where her father found work as a welder. A few years later, they moved to Salt Lake City, where she lived for the remainder of her life.
She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served a mission in Nova Scotia and spent a majority of her time on Prince Edward Island. Upon her return, she and Mike dated for six weeks, were engaged for six weeks, and were then married in the Salt Lake Temple on May 8, 1976. They had five children: Matt, Tony, Sam, Alicia, and Chris. Eventually, all the kids got married and then came her true joy—GRANDKIDS. June loved when the grandkids came around and they loved spending time with her.
Mike had his own automotive business where June was the bookkeeper for many years. During their other business ventures, June always kept things organized and shipshape. She went to work as an office assistant for a small business and met many wonderful friends, who became like family. She was working for Security National Life Insurance, where she found beneficiaries for old policies, helping them receive funds. She always loved the mystery of solving these insurance policies. She was able to work into her later years because of her wonderful co-workers and managers.
She had a talent for making elaborate birthday cakes and even a few beautiful wedding cakes. She enjoyed puzzles, especially at Christmas and New Year’s, when she would spend time with family completing them. She crocheted multiple blankets for loved ones and there’s no doubt that they will be cherished gifts for many years. In recent years, she had other hobbies such as painting the beautiful wood boxes Mike made, and even began learning to play the piano once again. She enjoyed serving in many callings and had a special place in her heart for scouting and the young women programs. One of her favorite pastimes was watching or listening to sports of any kind, but she always cheered the loudest for Brigham Young University and the Utah Jazz. More often than not, she was a fan of the underdog.
