Our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother June, at the remarkable age of 94, peacefully returned to the loving embrace of her Heavenly Father, reunited with cherished family members and friends. Years before her passing, she thoughtfully composed the following words for her obituary:
I was born in Spanish Fork, Utah and moved to Salt Lake when I was seven. I attended East High School, LDS Business College, and the University of Utah. I worked for many years at the Telephone Company. I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I love our Father-in-Heaven and our Savior Jesus Christ.
We are all trying to get through life as smoothly as possible. I hope I have given a smile or laugh to everyone I could. I didn’t make any great achievement or find a cure for any disease. My most notable accomplishment is my children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
I hope to be where even the streets are paved with chocolate!
June is lovingly survived by three of her four children, two sons-in-law, and one daughter-in-law, as well as eight grandchildren, one grandchild-in-law, and two cherished great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her younger brother and his wife, along with many beloved extended family members. June was preceded in death by her parents, her devoted husband, her daughter, her older sister and her husband, as well as her older brother and his wife.
June loved exploring the city, delighting in the vibrant lights and the hustle and bustle of life. Dining out at restaurants was one of her favorite pastimes—a chance to relax, share conversations, and enjoy a good meal. She also cherished participating in her weekly scripture study group and connecting with friends from the Ward.
We are profoundly thankful to the many members of her Ward, who, over the years, offered unwavering support to June and our family. She was truly blessed by the constant love, care, and thoughtfulness of her friends, family, and Ward community.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated healthcare professionals in hospice care and assisted living who cared for June with such compassion and kindness. Your support meant the world to her and our family.
