Junior Salazar Hernandez

Junior Salazar Hernandez, born May 6th, 1979, unexpectedly passed away on July 12th, 2026, at 47 years old. He was a devoted father, son, brother, uncle, partner, and friend, leaving us all far too soon. Junior, born in Guatemala, moved with his family to Los Angeles and called it home for 15 years before moving to Utah. Being proud of his culture and roots, Junior was known as a staple representation of anything LA related and proudly displayed his Guatemalan heritage. Junior was the life of any gathering and cared deeply for those around him. He was a selfless man, often being the one others felt they could call in times of need. Junior was a walking celebration of all of his own and other’s achievements. He never missed a special occasion and always put his family first. His silly personality could bring light and hope to any serious conversation or obstacle, providing those around him with a sense of comfort and security. Junior loved his family more than anything and worked hard to ensure his people were well taken care of. His mother received a phone call every day where he'd crack a joke about combing his hair and remind her of just how much he loved and was there for her. Junior loved to dance, be in the water, and truly reminded us to appreciate the little things in life, take it easy, and be a kid again. To "The One Who Always Showed Up", we will miss you greatly and will continue to live thoughtfully through your legacy. Junior is proceeded in death by his brother William, and survived by his mother, Miriam, his father, Julio, his sisters, Evelyn and Marleny, his life partner, Karen, his daughter, Jocelyn, his two sons, Isaiah and Alijah, his 12 nieces and nephews, and his beloved dog, Stitch.
