Karen Jenson Bruce, age 85, returned to her heavenly home on October 14, 2023, in Taylorsville, Utah.
Karen was born March 3, 1938, in Fremont, Utah, to Wayne and Ella Jenson. She was the fourth daughter in a family of seven.
Karen graduated from Wayne High School in 1956. She enjoyed working at John C. Wiley Book Publishing Company in Salt Lake City for many years.
Karen met the love of her life, Bill Bruce, and they were married in 1981 in Hawaii. With her marriage to Bill, she expanded her family and gained three daughters. They enjoyed traveling together. When Bill retired they quickly became snowbirds going to Lake Havasu for the winter.
Bill and Karen built a cabin in the mountains of Weber Canyon. They loved hosting family and friends and made many wonderful memories. Bill passed away on February 2, 1999.
Karen was a strong and independent woman with a good heart. She was known for her excellent cooking and beautiful table settings.
She enjoyed celebrations and sent cards for every holiday and birthday. Her door was always open and she was an accomplished hostess. She was very generous and shared willingly. Karen was supportive of everyone and was part of the glue that held our family together.
